THE WHY OF WHEEL BEARING REPLACEMENT
How Wheel Bearings Work and Why They Get Damaged
In order to operate with minimal friction and maximum efficiency, your wheel axles rotate inside bearings. These bearings are kept clear of dirt and debris through the use of rubber seals, which hold a pocket of lubricating fluid around the bearing to help the axle rotate freely.
Unfortunately, these seals wear out over time. They can also become damaged, exposing the wheel bearings to the open air. Once this happens, the bearing can become damaged, leading the way to a host of other problems.
